Teaching English to Teachers of English

The principal ambition of ProjectEnglish.Org is to provide a matchless site containing up-to-date materials for the teaching and learning of English. Based in Nigeria, the project has personnel both within and outside the country. Furthermore, every one of the 'staff' of the project is an outstanding internationally celebrated scholar in his or her field of interest. In addition to scores of sites accessible through the website, ProjectEnglish.Org offers teachers and students of English in Nigeria and elsewhere original books downloadable at no cost at all - although it is expected that copyright laws be respected.

As part of its objective to bring the English language home to the individual teacher and student the world over, ProjectEnglish.Org also trains the teachers of English everywhere these may be working, thereby directly adding value not only to the teachers themselves but also to the students/pupils who look to these 'distillers' of knowledge of the language. With over 450 slides on every aspect of English, ProjectEnglish.Org boasts a great mastery and delivery of the essential areas of the language: grammar, lexis, phonology, phonetics, semantics, and morphology - and the practical details of these 'subjects'. There's also a vast repository on related aspects such as spelling, reading and listening comprehension, essay writing, and summary writing; and then there's a large, virtually inexhaustible resource on all the aspects of literature: poetry, drama, prose, literary terms, etc.

Catering to the needs of all users of English, especially as a second language - ESL - the Project Compass leads visitors to sections of the site according to their professional, tutorial or learning needs: nursery/primary, secondary, tertiary. There are also sections dedicated to visitors who would like to use the website for research.

On the whole, with the introduction of ProjectEnglish.Org into the use, teaching and learning of English worldwide, the language readily becomes a piece of cake. Well, enough of so many boastful words; let's see what the site's got…
